WHO IS BEHIND THIS
ABOUT ME
A short, honest version. No buzzwords, no experience I do not have yet.
I am Afif Ikram, a computer engineering student who is working towards a career in cloud and DevOps engineering.
What pulled me in was the infrastructure side of things — the part that runs underneath the application. How a server is set up, how software gets packaged so it runs the same everywhere, and how all of it can be deployed without someone doing it by hand every time. That is the work I want to do.
My approach is simple: pick one thing, build it properly, and write down what I learned. I would rather have five projects I can explain line by line than twenty tutorials I only followed along with. Everything on this site is either something I have built, something I am building right now, or something clearly marked as planned.
Right now I am at the beginning of that path. I am comfortable in a Linux terminal, I use Git for everything, and I am working through my roadmap one project at a time. This site is part of that — I built it from scratch, no templates and no CSS framework.

RELEVANT COURSEWORK
My degree covers a wide range — AI, data, security, embedded systems. Cloud and DevOps is the direction I chose to go deep in.
HOW I GOT HERE
LEARNING JOURNEY
Where I started, where I am, and where this is going.
STARTED WITH CODE
University coursework got me writing Python and C++, and working with databases. Useful, but I kept wondering what happens to code after it is written.
FOUND THE INFRASTRUCTURE SIDE
Cloud computing and big data classes showed me the layer underneath — servers, storage, and the systems that keep everything running. That is where I wanted to be.
BUILDING THE FOUNDATION — NOW
Living in the Linux terminal, setting up my own server, and documenting everything publicly. This portfolio is where that record lives.
NEXT: CONTAINERS AND AUTOMATION
Docker, then CI/CD pipelines, then AWS with Terraform. Each one becomes a project on the roadmap with its own write-up.
THE GOAL
An internship or junior role where I can work on real infrastructure alongside people who have done this longer than I have.
